YerbaBuena Boricua Music for the New Millenium. This group of urban pelenros is one of the hottest things on the NY scene today. Playing Bomba, Plena, Music Jibara and more, they make every show into the party of the year. Led by Carlos "Tato" Torres the band now features the musical direction and nylon string guitar of Bryan Vargas. A new musical paying tribute to the greatest trios of Latin America (Los Panchos, Los Condes, etc.) Featuring musical direction by Bryan Vargas and the vocal talents of : Ivan Alexander Bautista, Andreas Guarin, Manuel Moran & Ana Campos. Bryan Vargas Trio/Quartet When it comes time for Bryan to make a more "jazzy" noise, expect this group to show up. Usually a 3-piece group, or often a full quartet featuring Bryan's buddies on piano, percussion, saxophone, or god knows what. Expect jazz standards, tipico afro-cuban jazz, brazilian jazz, and original compositions. Currently appearing every Sunday at the Lunchbox Food Co., NYC. & at some of NYC's best restaurants. Solo Guitar You can catch Bryan performing solo jazz guitar at many events and venues around town. Writing Bryan is also a freelance music journalist.
